Drama Camps

Discover new worlds at Lifeline Theatre’s Drama Camps! Children explore their imaginations and hone their natural performing abilities while gaining sound theatre training in a fun-filled atmosphere. Our camps not only teach kids how to embody characters and act out stories, they also help them to gain confidence, express themselves, and work patiently and respectfully with each other.

SUMMER DRAMA CAMPS

2020 SUMMER CAMP UPDATE

We are very excited for summer camp 2020!

We are also, however, closely monitoring the state and city guidelines for safety. While “in person” camp would be ideal (adhering to all recommended safety measures), if we find that is not possible we have a detailed plan for Lifeline virtual drama camps ready to go! Either way, we are committed to providing kids with a fun, interactive drama experience that activates imagination and builds community – no matter the distance between us.

If we do take our camps online, we will still be exploring books, adaptation, and performance. Here is a peek at what you can expect:

For our 7-14 year olds:
Drama Stars 1Drama Stars 2, and Theatre Intensive campers will participate in camp from 10am – Noon each day, with an optional hour of programming after lunch, from 12:30 – 1:30pm.

For our 5-7 year olds:
Drama Kids campers can look forward to an active hour of programming each morning from 10 – 11:00am.

Online camps will have adjusted pricing, of course. Activities will offer breaks from the screen and lots of movement! We will have more details for you very soon. We appreciate your patience and understanding!

In our DRAMA KIDS camps, we’ll adapt two different stories: We Don’t Eat our Classmates by Ryan T. Higgins (Session 1), and Anansi and the Magic Stick, by Eric A. Kimmel (Session 2). This year, We’re growing our camp offerings by offering two levels of DRAMA STARS this summer. Our Drama Stars 1 campers will adapt madcap favorite The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, by John Scieszka and Lane Smith. Offered as a half or full day option! Drama Stars 2 will adapt A Tale Dark and Grimm, bringing their own twist to Adam Gidwitz’s wholly original, dark and humorous tale. We’ll also be bringing back our popular Theatre Intensive unit this summer – more info below!
