Student Matinees

Comprehensive Study GuidesPost-Performance Talk BacksAdd-On Workshops

Every year, our KidSeries Student Matinee Program serves over 3,000 students, 35 schools, 120 classrooms, and 185 teachers with school-day performances. Research has proven that access to high-quality professional arts experiences is integral to a child's education, so we invite them to see the best of the best. Lifeline Theatre's award-winning adaptations of children's literature inspire a love of reading that will gives flight to your students' imaginations and stay with them throughout their lives.

Two weeks before the field trip, teachers receive comprehensive Study Guides, complete with play synopses, pull-out activity pages that relate the play to other school subjects, and student/teacher reviews to send back to the cast.

Following every school matinee, our cast engages the student audiences in post-performance Talk Backs. The actors ask and answer questions, encouraging deeper analysis of the play.

Finally, we offer optional hour-long Add-On Workshops following the play for the schools wishing to extend their visit. The depth of programming in our Student Matinee Program is what makes schools return year after year!

When you book a matinee you will receive:

  • Discounted tickets
  • Professionally prepared study guides
  • Informative post-show discussions with the cast
  • A detailed map to make it easy to find us
  • The option of Add-On Workshops (at Lifeline OR your school) before or after the performance
