Reporting directly to Lifeline’s Board of Directors and working in partnership with Managing Director Allison Cain, Duncan will be responsible for stewarding the vision of the artistic ensemble, engaging and inspiring Lifeline’s extended family, seeking out meaningful collaborative opportunities, and upholding the mission of the organization. Duncan succeeds Dorothy Milne, who has served as artistic director since 1999 and will continue in the role until Duncan’s duties commence in January 2019.

Race and Representation in Chicago Theater
Victory Gardens Theater, The League of Chicago Theatres, Silk Road Rising and Lifeline Theatre are collaborating on a new conversation series, Race and Representation in Chicago Theater, that will discuss the issues of race and representation in Chicago’s theater community. Chicago mystery writers Sara Paretsky, Sean Chercover and Julie Hyzy will appear at Lifeline Theatre’s 26th Anniversary Benefit, called “Mystery3” (or “Mystery Cubed”), to sign copies of their books and meet with their fans during a special VIP champagne reception. The evening also includes a live performance of a classic Dorothy L. The Joseph Jefferson Awards Committee today announced two Special Citations awards. Wrigleyville’s Stage Left Theatre and Rogers Park’s Lifeline Theatre are being honored for their contributions to theatre over the years. Both are mainstays of Chicago’s non-union theatre community and exemplify dedication to presenting new material.
